Information handled in Chrome
To automatically find supported media and files on visited HTTP(S) pages, the extension processes page/source URLs, titles, filenames, media elements, quality/duration/audio/subtitle information, relevant network headers and tab context. A social post author's username may help match the correct video. Source URLs may contain temporary access tokens.
When required, cookies scoped to the relevant source URL, User-Agent, Referer and Origin are passed to the local Windows companion. Cookies are not modified; Chrome's password vault and Windows passwords are not read. Quality or public-post inspection can contact the source before a download is selected.
Temporary in-memory files
Suitable file/audio responses already read by the page can be matched to a temporary Blob's real source using local memory and chunk hashes, within a 64 MiB limit. Matching starts no additional network request. Response bodies and hashes are not sent to Scoopix servers or the native bridge. Only current click context is used; no click history is created.
Storage on your device
The source list stays in the browser session until cleared or the tab closes. From 0.2.105, unresolved handoff source URLs, necessary non-cookie headers, save choices and job IDs are protected by the Windows companion using current-user DPAPI. Chrome local storage holds only a version, browser download ID and encrypted envelope; resolved records are removed. Cookies are not written into these records. Legacy plaintext records are migrated with the same job ID. If the companion is old or unavailable, no new plaintext record is written; an existing unresolved record is retained until repair and migration to avoid losing the user's job.
Domains where you hide video bars remain local preferences and are not synced. The Windows app stores settings, history and resume data locally; source/Referer URLs use Windows account-bound protection, which does not encrypt every database field. Job cookies stay in working memory. Uninstalling does not automatically remove your files or history.
Torrent use shares your IP address and torrent identifier with trackers, peers and, for public torrents, the DHT network. File pieces may be uploaded to peers during downloading; sharing stops by default on completion. Torrent task records are encrypted for your Windows account; downloaded file contents are not encrypted.
Where information goes
The extension uses Native Messaging to communicate with the companion on the same computer. The companion retrieves metadata/files from the relevant content provider/CDN, which can receive your IP address, appropriate source headers and necessary source cookies as part of normal requests. Extension code is bundled locally and does not execute remote JavaScript. Download sources are not automatically reported to the developer for advertising or analytics.
Updates and beta time
After startup, approximately every six hours and on manual checks, the Windows app queries a fixed official HTTPS update address. With your confirmation, it can download, verify and run an installer. This is separate from Chrome store extension updates.
Signed beta-time verification sends a random challenge and app version to the official service, without a Tester ID, download sources, site cookies or history. The server can see normal connection IP/time. The current beta ends on 21 November 2026 at 00:00 (UTC+3) and requires online time verification.
Website download statistics
The website download button records a start with version, time, IP and estimated country; it does not count completed installations. IP details are administrator-only. Details older than 30 days are purged hourly; day/version/country totals without IPs may remain. Country is estimated using a local DB-IP database, not device location; IPs are not sent to a location service. VPNs/proxies can affect results.
Separate technical web-server access logs can contain IP, request path/query, time, browser and referrer. There is currently no automatic age-based deletion for these technical logs; they may remain until an administrator deletes them. The website and extension have no advertising or unrelated browsing-profile analytics SDK.
To show active site visitors, visible pages send a first-party signal every 30 seconds. Only administrators see the IP, approximate country, last page path and last-seen time. No cookies, persistent visitor ID or browsing history are created. Query strings and fragments are not sent. The list stays in server memory only: removed after 90 seconds and cleared from memory within another 15 seconds; a restart clears it. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable this measurement.
Community and support
Optional community registration uses a display name, email, Tester ID and password hash. Only administrator-approved bug reports may be public, with the display name and replies; suggestions/support messages are private to their author and administrators. Email and Tester ID are not public. A necessary login session cookie lasts up to seven days. Accounts, posts and moderation records have no automatic deletion period.
Emails and attachments you choose to send to support are used to answer your request. The support mailbox uses Natro XMail; Natro processes those messages to provide the email service. Support messages have no automatic deletion period and may remain until deleted by a user or authorized administrator. Send account/data requests to support@scoopixdm.com.
Your choices
Disable automatic file capture in the popup, hide site video bars or limit Chrome site access; this may limit features. List/history removal options manage the corresponding records. Source URLs are shown/copied only through an explicit action; copying may write to the clipboard and sharing signed URLs can grant temporary source access.
Capture reports are not sent automatically. The current report omits raw source URLs, titles, cookies and passwords; sharing it is your choice. Contact support for access, correction or deletion requests, which are assessed after verifying account ownership.
Limited Use
Information obtained through Chrome APIs and pages is used only for the disclosed download functions and their operation. It is not sold or used for targeted advertising, unrelated browsing profiles or credit decisions. Use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use. Changes to data practices will be disclosed in this notice.
