0.3.53 Beta
The final 0.3.53 beta brings file, video and torrent downloads together. Update your existing installation to keep your history and settings.
Time-limited Beta Tester
The beta is available throughout 20 November 2026. It expires on 21 November 2026 at 00:00 (UTC+3).
The beta needs an internet connection at each launch. If disconnected, an existing verification lasts up to 5 minutes and never beyond the beta deadline.
Scheduler improvements
The lower scheduler fields are now reachable by scrolling in smaller windows. Calendar text is readable, and time zones are selected from a list of place names and UTC offsets. Existing scheduling rules are preserved. Works with the existing Chrome extension 0.3.50; no extension reinstall is needed.
Beta verification fix
Fixed incorrect beta verification interruptions caused by connection delays. The running app keeps its main window open and retries temporary verification failures. Works with the existing Chrome extension 0.3.50; no extension reinstall is needed.
Browser video discovery update
Improved Facebook and Instagram sponsored video discovery. Fixed recognition of copied and joined Instagram media streams. These features require the bundled Chrome extension 0.3.50; the store version is 0.3.50.
Chrome extension after setup
Open the official Chrome store page from the end of setup. Selected for a fresh installation and optional for an update. You confirm adding the extension in Chrome.
More consistent large-file transfers
Reduced idle time on other connections while a slow part is pending. Your selected connection limit stays the same; speed depends on the server and network.
Current speed information
Fixed an old speed remaining visible after data stops arriving. Update in the same location without uninstalling to keep your history and files.
Easier folder and subtitle choices
Choose a previous download folder from the list. Select multiple subtitles in a compact dropdown and edit selected track names. The file extension stays fixed.
Installer background-engine wait
Fixed the background engine blocking safe shutdown preparation. Exit Scoopix from the system tray, then update in the same location to keep your history and files.
Edit the name, keep the extension
Change the file name in the download window; the extension stays tied to the selected format. Preparing selected languages in videos with many subtitle options was also improved.
Update installation fixed
The updater now includes its required runtime. For versions 0.3.15–0.3.17, exit Scoopix from the tray and run this setup once manually. Install over the existing version; history and files are preserved.
Connections per download
The download window starts with the app preference. Choose 1–8 connections for that file without changing the global setting. The choice survives pause and restart.
A more compact torrent list
Torrent rows take less space. Details, open folder and remove from history share one line, leaving room for more torrents.
Torrent and magnet support
File, video and torrent downloads now share the same beta app, with file selection, pause, resume and access to completed files.
Continue with your existing installation
Update over your existing installation; history, settings and files are preserved.
Protected browser handoffs
Unresolved browser download addresses and save choices use encryption tied to your Windows account. Retries retain the same job ID and do not create a second Chrome copy.
Add links in batches
Paste one address per line to add up to 100 links in one window. Duplicates are skipped and invalid lines are identified. Folder and speed settings apply to the whole list; remaining requests can be retried.
Transfer performance diagnostics
Optional, time-limited diagnostics have been added to investigate performance issues. Existing download behaviour, file integrity and the 1–8 connection limit are preserved. This release does not guarantee a speed increase.
Less disk waiting for large files
Ready ranges in large-file transfers are saved in bounded groups, avoiding a redundant final save. Pause, resume, file integrity and the 1–8 connection limit are preserved. Gains depend on the source and computer.
Less disk work during video transfers
Reduced temporary disk operations for video fragments. Network requests that stop delivering data now enter the bounded retry flow. Pause, resume and connection limits are preserved. Speed gains depend on the source and computer.
One copy of your MP3 download
When you select a player’s MP3 in Scoopix, the site’s automatic Chrome save of the same file is stopped. Files with an unverified source or modified contents remain in the browser.
Take over Chrome downloads after checks finish
For downloads temporarily paused by another extension, Scoopix waits for the browser check to finish. Chrome's download is stopped before Scoopix takes over. Blocked downloads and downloads that remain paused are never resumed automatically.
Clear selected entries or all history
Remove selected entries from History or confirm clearing all history. Files, the downloads list and lifetime statistics are kept. Transferred size and speed are displayed with clearer spacing.
Download history is kept
Completed, cancelled and failed downloads appear with their outcomes in History. Entries removed from the downloads list remain in history and can be filtered separately. Completed files are kept; removing a cancelled job cleans up its own partial files.
Fewer requests for video fragments
For video fragments with a known size, metadata and content come from the same response. Sources with an unknown size use the existing validation path. Quality, audio selection, safe resuming and the 1–8 connection limit are preserved; actual speed depends on the source and connection.
Fewer disk writes during file transfers
Small network reads are combined during parallel file downloads to reduce disk writes and buffer allocations. Connection limits, speed limits and safe resuming are preserved. Actual speed depends on the source, network and disk.
Less waiting during file and video transfers
Large-file transfers and video connection use have been improved. The 1–8 connection setting, safe pause and resume remain available. Actual speed depends on the source, your connection and your disk.
Temporary file cleanup for cancelled videos
Removing a cancelled video from the list also cleans up leftover source and merge files. If a file is locked, the entry stays visible so you can retry once it is released. Completed files are preserved.
Steadier time remaining for videos
When source sizes are available, video and audio are measured together in bytes. The estimate keeps updating during large fragments, with a longer measurement window to reduce abrupt jumps. It appears in the list and details, and is hidden while paused or combining.
Automatic update cache cleanup
After a successful update, old installers and temporary update files are removed. Active updates are preserved; failed installation logs are kept until the next successful update.
Closed-tab error fixed
Fixed an extension badge update error when a tab closes. Media detection continues in open tabs.
Clean up cancelled downloads
Removing a cancelled download from the list deletes its partial file and temporary parts. Removing a completed entry keeps the downloaded file on disk.
Readable source URL in the save dialog
The source URL field in the save dialog is larger. Long links wrap onto multiple lines, and Copy preserves the complete link.
Chrome download error fixed
Fixed Chrome's ‘Download must be in progress’ error when handing downloads to Scoopix. The extension no longer sends a stale filename reply after stopping Chrome's transfer; Scoopix handles the download.
A clearer Settings form
Folders, connection count, language and Chrome options are together in a spacious two-column form. All 1–8 connection choices are visible, with Save and Close always within reach. On smaller screens, scrolling keeps every option accessible.
Estimated time in the download list
For active file downloads, remaining time is calculated from recent progress. A calculating message appears during warm-up; no duration is invented for streams with an unknown size.
More efficient connections
Reduced idle connections while waiting for a slow range. Your selected 1–8 limit is preserved; the speed display uses the most recent three seconds.
A readable source URL
The source URL is shown near the top of details in a larger, wrapping field and can be copied. If loading fails, you can retry.
Choose your connection limit
In Settings, choose 1–8 connections per download; the default is 4. Your saved choice applies to new downloads or after pausing and resuming. The list shows the actual active connections supported by the source.
Parallel MediaFire downloads
Eligible MediaFire sources can use parallel downloads with verified file integrity information. The completed file is checked with SHA-256 before it is saved; if integrity information is unavailable, a single connection is used.
Scoopix takes over the download
Chrome's transfer stops before the save dialog when Scoopix takes over. Fixed the handoff of fast downloads. Cancelling does not restart the browser download.
Chrome downloads in Scoopix
Eligible Chrome downloads are handed to Scoopix using the desktop file type list. Newly added types apply to the next download. Automatic capture can be disabled in the extension menu.
Beta time remaining
The countdown beside Tester ID shows the remaining time verified by the server.
Time-limited Beta Tester
The beta period is verified with a signed server response. Turning back the computer clock does not extend it. The beta needs an internet connection at each launch. If disconnected, an existing verification lasts up to 5 minutes and never beyond the beta deadline.
Installation and Chrome
Startup language selection, your download queue and the Chrome connection are preserved. Beta extension setup steps are on the download page.
